An Update regarding new Delta Variant.

Dear Residents, Families, and Team Members,

Earlier this year as the first vaccines flowed into senior living communities, it seemed as though the lockdowns and restrictions of 2020 were soon to be a distant memory.  Now, a new and significantly more infectious strain of coronavirus variant (Delta) threatens to derail some of that progress, and SilverPoint and all our communities have been monitoring the situation closely and are already making some adjustments.

We are pleased to have completed vaccination clinics at each of our communities and we continue to work to create a culture that promotes new residents and team members be vaccinated.  And thanks to those efforts, we remain cautiously optimistic about the path forward through this Delta variant.  While most of our residents and team member are vaccinated and breakthrough COVID-19 cases are thought to be rare, fully vaccinated individuals are testing positive for the disease so staying safe and vigilant is key to getting to the other side.

So what can you expect when you come to visit your loved one?

As always, any visitors at a community will need to make an appointment prior to arrival. Once you arrive, you will need to complete a screening for COVID-19 symptoms or exposure along with a temperature check. In accordance with regulatory guidance, we are limiting the number of essential caregivers/visitor per resident to one person at a time unless otherwise required by regulatory guidance.  We ask that should you be feeling ill in the slightest, do not take a chance and please wait until you are feeling well. We also ask that when you socialize that you follow CDC guidelines, observe six feet social distancing with other residents and team members, and wear a surgical/procedure mask (no cloth masks) at all times.  The best defense against this variant is a combination of the vaccine, social distancing, and mask usage.  Family and friends are an invaluable part of our residents’ lives, and there’s nothing that can replace visiting a loved one in person.

We ask for your patience as we work through the next phase of COVID. We understand you may have concerns and want further information. Our desire is to provide thorough and transparent communication. Should you have questions, please submit them to your community Executive Director.

Sincerely-

Debi Akeroyd
